Many of our guests enjoy
hiking, biking, and exploring the farm. Our lightly traveled country roads
offer beautiful scenery for you to enjoy however you choose to travel them! |
The Monsour Sheep Farm
is rich in local history. The stone building to the right is the first school
building to be constructed in Bedford County. Guests of the Country Estate
have this view from the School House Bedroom. One-half acre surrounding
this historical building has been deeded to the Pioneer Historical Society.
The schoolhouse will soon be undergoing a preservation project, sponsored
by the Bedford Rotary Club. |

History enthusiasts
will also enjoy exploring the Hill Top Cemetery located on the farm. This
pre-Revolutionary cemetery is the final resting place for members of three
families; the Kauffmans, Sills, and Reighards. Farm owner, Kathy Monsour,
has compiled some research on the families and their kin buried in the Hill
Top Cemetery. She would be happy to share her information with any interested
guests of Monsour Vacation Homes. |
